New brand: Bio Effect

As a black woman in my mid 30s (week!!) I often hear how young I look for my age and whilst that is a compliment, I can definitely assure you that I have noticed how my skin is ageing slowly but surely.  More than anything, I have concerns about the lines around my eyes and sometimes feel like my skin could do with a little extra plumping, especially those days when I really look tired!

I love good skincare and recently found a brand fairly new to the market called Bio Effect.  Made in Iceland, the scientists behind the brand have created serums and creams that focus on the cellular renewal otherwise known as Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF).

What is EGF?

EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) is the skin's ability to trigger cell renewal, assisting in wound-healing and producing collagen and elastin, making the skin look young, plump and smooth.  As we mature, these triggers decrease and the fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear.

Research has been done by Bio Effect to create these human-like activators from barley seeds.

I was given a sample of the serum which I was told would last three days, but went further and lasted six.  I used the serum all over the face and around the eyes.  My first love of this product is the consistency.  I like a serum to sink into the skin and no leave a residue.  I found that this serum has a lot of Glycerin, which is great for attracting and maintaining moisture to the skin, but can feel quite sticky.  This serum glides over the skin and sinks in immediately, leaving the skin feeling soft and hydrated.

I have to admit for the six days that I was using this I had compliments every single day at how great my skin looked, smooth and hydrated.  I even used the serum around the eyes.  I then followed the serum with my current moisturiser.

I have noticed that my skin feels even more soft and supple and there has been a slight improvement to the lines around my eyes softening.

For anyone who wants to feel and see the difference in their skin, it is worth investing in good skincare products, and this is a brand worth trying.

I was lucky enough to meet Renuma at the Bio Effect counter in Liberty who was full of knowledge about the brand and the products.  They even have a 30 day challenge!!
