Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing Cream
Its the new year and winter has finally arrived. Let's face it this weather can truly wreek havoc on the skin, going from cold harsh weather into hot, dry central heated buildings, it can give anyone who has a normal skin type a combination of issues, with dehydrated patches in one place and oily patches in another. To ensure that your skin doesn't fall prey to the weather here are some tips:
Exfoliate, exfoliate - if you only exfoliate once a week, or once a month, or if you remember, it is time to up your exfoliation to twice a week at least. Beautiful glowing skin cannot be achieved if you have deadskin sitting on top!! By exfoliating you removed dead skin and allow new skin to come through. Exfoliating will allow your serums and moisturisers to better penetrate the skin.
Use a Serum - Serums are designed to penetrate the skin at the lower levels and feed the dermis layer of the skin. This is a way of providing more hydration directly to the skin and depending on the type of serum you purchase can also deliver peptides and collagen that can help plum the skin.
A nourishing moisturiser - I believe this is just as important as a serum. I love to use a slightly heavier cream during the winter days as it nourishes the skin more. My personal favourite is Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing cream.
Flower Harmonizing Cream £88, available at Space NK and Liberty
This cream is like a duvet for the skin. It contains a wonderful mix of vitamins, essential oils, botanicals and even seaweed, it is great for anyone with sensitive and extra dry skin. I love that this cream feels like velvet when applied, it also doesn't leave an oily or greasy look or feel to the skin. The major plus is that it really does help to maintain and maximise moisture in the skin. During this cold time of year, you want to make sure that you feed your skin as much moisture as possible.
By maximising the moisture in your skin it can also help for a more youthful appearance. I often find it difficult to drink the required amount of water I should on a daily basis, and to ensure that my skin doesn't look dehydrated, I make sure that I hydrate with good serums and moisturisers. I also love that the cream helps to increase your collagen production, this is a must for maintaining good elasticity in the skin, keeping it nice and plump, fresh and young.
It is not the cheapest of moisturisers retailing in stores at £88, but I believe as you get older you should invest in good skincare to maintain your looks rather than waiting for when you are older to correct. Prevention is easier and better than correction.
