Makeover Monday

This week's Makeover Monday model is the wonderful Loutie.  As you can see Loutie suffers from pigmentation, dark patches and an uneven skintone.  She had expressed to me that she can find it difficult to find a good foundation that covers everything without making her look grey and ashy!  So she challenged me to even out her skin and give her a smokey eye that wouldn't highlight the uneven tones in her skin.

It is worth noting that if like Loutie you suffer from an uneven skintone, you should look into investing in skincare that contains Vitamin C.

Key Products:

Skin Prep: I moisturised the skin first with Bioderma Hydrating serum and then followed with Embroylisse Creme Concetrate all over the face.  I allowed this to fully absorb into the skin before applying Laura Mercier Radiance Bronze Primer.  This has lovely golden flecks in giving the skin a gorgeous glow.

Eyes:  I primed the eyes with Trish Eyebase in Toffee.   This helped to neutralise any discoloration on the lids and brightened the eyelids up.  I then applied Tilt eyeshadow on the lid and blended Texture and Mulch eyeshadows by MAC into the socket.  These colours are great transistion colours for Loutie.   I highlighted under the brows with Vanilla Pigment by MAC, giving the brows a little more lift.  To line the eyes and give Loutie more definition, I used Trish McEvoy's Intense Black Gel liner all around the eyes.  I then added lashings and lashings of Hourglass Film Noir Mascara to the lashes to give a full dramatic eye.

Eyebrows:  To thicken out the brows, I used Anastacia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Dark Brown to fill in her brows.  This is a gel texture formula that glides on and provides a long lasting finish.

Foundation and Concealer:  To ensure we got a really nice even tone on Loutie's skin, I color corrected the dark areas with MAC Ochre Corrector and made sure this was buffed in and dry before moving onto foundation.  I then used Lancome Teint Miracle No. 11 all over the face and building up coverage as I went along.  I like to aply two - three layers for a medium to full coverage depending on the skin.    I then followed and concealed under the eyes and upper lip with NW45 Studio Finish concealer by MAC.   I set the skin using MAC Mineralise Powder in Dark.

Blush:  For the cheeks, I mixed Raisin and Fever Blushers by MAC and buffed onto the cheeks.

Lips:  To complete the look I used MAC Plum lip liner  and added a gorgeus glittery gloss called Funtabulous on top to give the lips a little more fullness and sparkle.

A big Thank You to Loutie for being my model!
