Makeover Monday
This weeks Makeover Monday is channelling Frida Pinto's smouldering look with a bright pop of colour on the lip.
Frida usually does a really natural look so what I love about this one is that she has spiced it up a little and its probably the only bright coloured lip look she has worn in a long time.
This look is a great one to do on all skin tones.
Key Products for this look:
- Embryolisse Hydra Mat Emulsion
- Urban Decay - Primer Potion
- MAC - Mulch, Embark & Hoodwinked Eye shadows
- NARS - Black Liquid Liner
- Hourglass - Film Noir Mascara
- Lancome -Teint Miracle Foundation
- Trish McEvoy Correct & Brighten Concealer & Flawless Concealer
- MAC - Mineralize Blush Warm Soul
- Lime - Crime Airbourne Unicorn
Meet Shizza our model for this week, like most teenagers she suffers from some acne, along with some scars, which with regular exfoliation can help to reduce the scaring.
Shizza Before
Skin Prep: To prep the skin, I used a Dermalogica Daily Resurfacer exfoliator. This is a little finger mitt that you rub in circular motions across all over the face. It contains alpha and beta hydroxy acid that help to dissolve the dead skin cells evenly and makes the skin smoother and brighter. I then followed with Embyrolisse Hydra Mat Emulsion. This is a light weight moisturiser that gives a matte finish, it can also double up as a primer.
Eyes: I primed the eyes with Urban Decay's primer potion and buffed MAC Mulch eyeshadow into the sockets and lightly onto the ball of the lid. I darkened the sockets with a little bit of Embark eyeshadow and in the outer corners and underneath the eyes. I gave a little lift to the eyes with Hoodwinked eyeshadow on the ball of the eye. All three colours gave a soft sultry smokey eye.
I then used the Nars Liquid Liner in Black to define the eyes and create a more winged eye, followed by curling Shizza's long lashes and adding plenty of Hourglass Film Noir Mascara to define and open them up.
Shizza All Scrubbed Up
Face: I didn't want to use too heavy a foundation on Shizza's skin, so for foundation I used Lancome's Teint Miracle in Beige Cendre. For areas that needed a little more coverage, I concealed with Trish McEvoy's Flawless No.3.
I concealed under the eyes with Trish McEvoy's Correct & Brighten concealer No.2 and set the face with a translucent powder.
Blush: I used MAC Mineralize Blush Warm soul on the apples of the cheeks.
Lips: I finished the lips with a bright beautiful purple colour from Lime Crime called Airborne Unicorn.
Thanks to Shizza for being my model. I would love to hear your thoughts, comments about finding the right foundation for your skin tone and wearing bold lip colours.
